Alpine Shire MECC opened in response to Bright fire threats

Bushfires threatening the township of Bright have spurred the MECC to Alpine Shire MECC to open.
The system went through live simulations in November, however the current fires burning around Bright are the first real test for the MECC software.
So far the system has worked well in co-ordinating the firefighting and disaster relief efforts, with failsafe features fortunately not having to be used.
